Menu Plan for Week 99 with Trim Healthy Mama

The menu plan for week 99 was developed in an interesting way.  Several things occurred in the past several days that called for some additional influence.  The first was reading a blog by Lindsey Dietz of All the Nourishing Things.  She shared her favorite recipes from the original Trim Healthy Mama Cookbook.  As I scanned her list, I realized that I had never tried most of them.  How could I miss so many highly recommended meals? I decided immediately that I would base my menu plan for week 99 on her top ten list.   Top Ten Trim Healthy Mama Cookbook Recipes

The next was joining a 2 week challenge by Sarah Montana.  She posted an invitation to her 2 Week No Cheat Challenge on facebook and my daughter and I decided to join.  We have both given in to a variety of off plan temptations and want to get back into gear.  My biggest challenge will be the amount of wine allowed.

Lastly I have received several THM meal recommendations from family.  Those certainly cannot be ignored!

I have included several new recipes in my breakfast plan for week 99 found on Sarah Montana’s first week meal plan.   She shared that she makes the BAM cake into individual muffins.  Something I have never made but definitely worth a try, especially since I can use it for a dessert or snack as well.  The “secret” ingredient milk shake is her recommendation as well.

The lunch plan for week 99 includes a family favorite the Trim Zuppa Toscana, which will feed  us several times.  The new additions are a Cajun Quinoa suggested in the top ten listing and a White Gazpacho that sounded interesting, especially on a hot day.

The dinners planned for week 99 are comprised of a recipe on Sarah’s list, also highly recommended by my niece.  The rest of the new meals planned are derived from the top 10 list from the Trim Healthy Mama Cookbook.  The cowboy grub we have had in the past and found very good and easily reheated for cooking once and eating again.

In order to stay on plan without deviations I am quite interested in increasing the number of options I have for snacks and desserts.  I will be experimenting with several of those over the next several weeks.

Hopefully the 2 weeks will fly by with a new desire to be compliant and a new appreciation for the terrific meals and snacks available if I simply take the time to prepare them.  Hopefully additional weight loss will be the reward and a renewed impetus to continue the journey.

Last week in preparation for the busy holiday week I neglected to review several kitchen successes.  The meatloaf is a family favorite but I thought I would repost the link.  The Easy Taco Pie and the Quiche were both outstanding and could be used for brunch, lunch or dinner.  Both will be part of a routine rotation at our house!

The Tuscan shrimp was delicious, but I am not certain that the recipe is actually compliant.  I will need to do additional research on the carb numbers.

I will admit that we have had some pretty incredible meals these past weeks.  Here’s to the continuation of both tried and true and the introduction of new and intriguing.  Bon Appetit!
