Menu Plan Week 117 with Trim Healthy Mama
The menu plan for week 117 continues to attempt to follow the THM way of eating even though it is difficult during the holiday season. The plan is on point, but the special events and celebrations provide some very definite opportunities to cheat…and cheat big time. It seems that no matter how much I promise myself to stay on plan, there is something that presents itself that I simply cannot resist. Sometimes I go as far as telling myself that I don’t want to hurt the feelings of the host or hostess and must force myself to eat seafood spread on these fabulous little crackers…such suffering.
I have made plans for week 117 as I did last week, but continue to realize that there will be many temptations.
My breakfast plans began with a holiday breakfast that I prepared for my bible study group on Tuesday morning. The offerings were delicious and because I made more that we could possibly eat, I have repeat servings of Greek eggs, and non crescent casserole. The pineapple oatmeal is yet another cook once/eat again repeat. I also made homemade scones for the Tuesday breakfast (the ‘Ole Buckeye’s favorite). Buttermilk Scones They were a hit and because I needed to sample to make certain they were serve-able, I remembered how much I loved them. I have had more than one…epic fail. The meals are simple and the only one that will require some time for preparation will be our family favorite…Easy Breakfast Casserole.
The lunches planned for week 117 are all repeats, as well as simple yet very tasty mid day treats. I really enjoy the cabbage and sausage making it different each time with a variety of chicken sausage flavors. So far the Italian has been the favorite.
Dinners for week 117 include more holiday get togethers and celebrations. I have supplemented with several meals stashed away in the freezer for just such busy times as these. My daughter will be preparing the chimichurri on Sunday. It is also supposed to warm up over the weekend, so we are planning to grill burgers for a change of pace. My daughter has not yet decided on what she would like for her birthday, so Monday evening revolves around her decision.
As a recap I would be remiss if I didn’t report on several important successes. I have made the mushrooms in the past, but forgotten just how delicious they are…and so easy.

We had the Greek shrimp on the ‘Ole Buckeyes’s birthday, by request. Oh how we love this dish!

The oatmeal was a complete surprise. The ‘Ole Buckeye who is not a particular fan of pineapple, loved this as well. It will be a definite on the breakfast rotation, and it is an E!
Upside Down Pineapple Oatmeal THM E Yum!
Last but by no means least…the new chicken dish. Delish! We look forward to eating it the second time. This will be a new addition to our chicken favorites.

So there you have it. As we continue through the holiday season, we plan to be eating healthy, but we also intend to have a good time and enjoy our favorites as well
Bon Appetit’
