The menu plan for week 96 was not the easiest to conjure up. We were on a road trip until early Monday evening and I had not taken a lot of time during our trip to explore the grocery specials, nor did I have a good grasp of what remained in the refrigerator/freezer at home. Because I was keenly aware that this next week would be busier than usual, I took some time on the road to put together a tentative list of both new and tried and true options. I may regret the meals that I planned. I tend to go slightly overboard when I have been away from the kitchen for awhile.
The breakfast plan for week 96 features two new recipes. I have not made overnight oatmeal and have been meaning to give several recipes a try. I just need to remember to make it in advance. The skillet bread will be a true experiment. It is very different from anything that I have made in the past. i am hoping for success. The muesli was successful the first time I made it, but I will continue to tweak it to make it even better.

The lunch plan for week 96 is more aggressive than usual. Hopefully I won’t regret it. The taco pie is in the freezer which will help. I have two heads of cauliflower that need to be used and the Asiago soup recipe sounded quite appealing. The pizza bites were planned several weeks ago but never made it to the table. I am anxious to give them a try.

The dinners planned for week 96 are all tried and true meals requiring very little thought. I am hosting Bunco on Tuesday and my week will be filled with cleaning and maintaining our main living space and garden. The theme chosen is Bridal (what could be more perfect in my world)! There is an immense amount of planning and preparation and I have left quite a bit of it to the last minute. The hostess provides a signature cocktail and dessert. I have pre-ordered a wedding cake. (small) I am still exploring cocktail ideas. Lots to do.
There was virtually no cooking last week, so there is nothing to report as far as hits and misses. We did have wonderful dining while on our road trip, but that requires a separate post. As for now, we are home and resuming normalcy. We continue our path following the Trim Healthy Mama guidelines and enjoying great healthy eating. Bon Appetit!
