Whew! We are home now after an extended weekend trip to Washington DC. On Tuesday, planning day and grocery shopping day, I had no enthusiasm for the process. The menu plan for week #38 was looming. On top of that, I learned a valuable lesson over the weekend…you should not forget to opt out of your weekly food delivery from Blue Apron. If you do and it is too late, the delivery will become 3 days of your meal plan.
Luckily I had not made a decision about this week from Blue Apron because several of the meals sounded intriguing. On the other hand I have a freezer full of meat and leftovers that need to be prepared. The menu plan for week #38 will include all. In addition I will look at the meals in future Blue Apron offerings and opt in or out NOW!
Obviously I became more caught up in travel and sightseeing than the mundane tasks of my normal week. I do want to evaluate yet another week of Blue Apron meals. I also want to determine if the expense is a valid budget concern. There is no longer a coupon offering savings. I will be charged the entire amount of $59.94 for the meals provided. In my world $59.94 goes a long way!
This week revolves around Blue Apron and cook once/eat twice. There is only one new recipe taken from my “Looks Good Enough to Try” Pinterest Board (which by the way continues its’ growth). I need to return to earlier goals.
By the way, this post is late. Not because it wasn’t written, but because I neglected to hit the “publish” button. Oh well, we are prepared and on our way to another week of good eating.
