Menu Plan 110 following Trim Healthy Mama Guidelines

The menu plan for week 110 continues to follow the THM eating plan.  I am just completing a challenge…Sarah Montana’s October Fuel Cycle Challenge.  I will share my experiences and recipes in a future blog, but one take away will be reflected in this week’s menu planning.  During the challenge the same fuel types were used each day rather than mixing the menus with a variety of fuel types per day.  For some reason, I found this to be much easier.  I no longer had to worry about the amount of time between the different meal types.  I think by following this thought process, it may be much easier to plan the week’s meals and make certain that I alternate fuel types and incorporate more E and FP meals.  Week 110 will be planned with that in mind.

I will start by planning the dinner meals.  After determining whether the dinner is a S, E, or FP, I will plan the breakfast and lunch menus accordingly.  I don’t know if it will be easier, but definitely worth a try.

I will admit that I am not a fan of planning all three meals each day, but I have found that not planning is a much bigger issue for me.

Each day’s menu plan is confined to one fuel source.  It requires much less thought when I am hungry between meals and have a desire for a dessert or a snack.  Among other things, the one week challenge created this strategy for menu planning.  Hopefully implementing this will be a win/win.

The other discovery that I made was the big differences in S meals.  I have never studied these differences and realized that most of my S meals are “Heavy S” meals laden with cheese, cream, etc.  Eureka moment…I have been making fabulous S meals and in the process curtailed much of my weight loss.  My initial weight loss came to a sudden halt.  Although I have not gained weight, I am not continuing to lose weight either.  I am determined to implement the lessons of my overlooked discoveries as I continue the learning process.

I may need to go back and read the first book now that I have been on the plan for quite some time.  I am sure there will be considerable information that I did not understand the first time around.

So there you have it.  The process continues.  Menu plan 110 is complete.  Healthy, enjoyable eating is always the goal.  Bon Appetit!
