2021 Week 51 Menu Plan

The 2021 week 51 menu plan is complete. We will be at our timeshare at the Marriott Surf Club, Aruba for the week. There will be 5 of us and we have decided in advance to do less cooking, and more relaxing. If it appears that it gets too expensive or we are not enjoying the dining options, we can always restock at the grocery. Now that the grand girls are older eating out is more enjoyable than when they were young and impatient. This trip will be a new eating experience.

Breakfast

The breakfasts planned during 2021 week 51 are tried and true recipes easily adapted to time share living requiring few ingredients to be purchased upon arrival. I pack the dry ingredients and put meals together each morning. The Creme Brûlée French toast planned for Christmas Eve is a tradition…totally off plan, and totally delicious. We will treat the girls to a breakfast buffet on Christmas morning.

Lunch

The lunches planned take advantage of several beach “shacks” offering a variety of options, so everyone can have what they want. I also have ingredients for the pasta, quesadillas, and taco casserole as a backup plan for those preferring “eating in”. The Charcuterie Board is a splurge on Christmas Eve. We often have heavy appetizers on Christmas Eve, so this lends itself well to tradition.

Dinner

I have preselected and made advanced reservations at several restaurants for dinner. That could change depending on group input. Madame Janette’s has been a tradition for years. We opted not to go last year because of Covid restrictions and the fact that the entire family could not be seated together. We are glad to be able to resume that tradition this year!

Hits…No Misses

We loved all of our meals during week 50. The only new recipe was the chicken a la king. It was great, although I did use a full pound of mushrooms and no spinach. Great eating.

Crack Chicken Soup

We were able to share the lasagna soup for dinner together and some early gift giving during our last evening home before departing on our trip.

Recap

Let Christmas week begin. Family, festivities, and great food! Bon Appetit!
