The menu plan for week 42 is ever so simple. Why? We are on the road again!
A few months ago the ‘Ole Buckeye decided that he wanted to make a follow up visit with the eye doctor he has been seeing for years. This particular doctor found an abnormality very early and the follow up specialist informed the ‘Ole Buckeye that this rarity would have been missed by most. A good reason to stick with someone you trust…right?
It was also time for my annual physical and since I have not been overly excited with my experience since we have relocated, I decided to try to schedule follow ups as well. I knew it was a shot in the dark to hope to do everything in a quick in and out trip, but it happened.
The ‘Ole Buckeye will see his internist and eye doctor, and I will get a mammogram, a follow up with my GYN, a physical with my GP and see my eye doctor. All of this is scheduled for Thursday and Friday. It sounds like an impossible task, but it happened. Well at least it is scheduled to happen. The added bonus is that we have the opportunity to visit with close and dear friends.
That being said, the menu plan for week 42 was really easy. We will be gone until late Saturday and my daughter invited us to join them for dinner on Sunday.
Since the refrigerator will be bare when we return, I plan to pull Rachael Ray’s roasted dinner from the freezer for Monday night and will hit the grocery store on Tuesday per routine. Tuesday night will feature the French onion chicken that I failed to make last week.
Easy, breezy!
Week 42 will be simple as far as the menu is concerned, but packed full of travel and going back home again. Aside from the cold forecast, week 42 should be full of good times and food shared with great friends.
