Day 3 Road Trip to Atlanta
Day 3 Road Trip to Atlanta began with breakfast at the Residence Inn. Once again the ‘Ole Buckeye had the usual oatmeal, yogurt and fruit. I on the other hand had a bountiful breakfast composed of scrambled eggs, delicious bacon, and a sampling of grits. Excellent once again.
The plan for the day was for the ‘Ole Buckeye to venture out on his own and visit the College Football Hall of Fame while I continued my market exploration.
The College Football Hall of Fame
We planned to meet for lunch when he finished.
He had a great experience at the Hall of Fame and was extremely glad he went. The registration process identified his alma mater and as he visited the exhibits and scanned his badge The Ohio State accomplishments would be highlighted. He was quite impressed.
Americas Mart
Meanwhile I spent my time perusing the various showrooms that captivated my interest in all three buildings of the mart.
I spent a great deal of time in the Napa Home and Garden showroom, finding several ideas for my home and garden decor as well as a new line of flameless candles.
Another priority was searching for new and upscale linens for our master bedroom. Two years ago I fell in love with a European line but didn’t purchase. I have not been able to get the linens out of my mind. In the interim I did find linens I liked at Restoration Hardware, but I wanted to compare and be certain before making a purchase.
After a long morning and early afternoon of shopping, I found a showroom serving a healthy lunch (with a bar).
Since the ‘Ole Buckeye was on his way to meet me, we lunched together in the showroom. I had a Caesar Salad and Mediterranean vegetable sandwich with a red wine. (and chips and a cookie) Yikes!
He joined me the for rest of the afternoon reviewing some of the things that excited me, and brought me down to earth. He is a good yang to my yin.
After a final review of the Napa Home and Garden Showroom
with appetizers, wine and beer we called it a day.
Our legs and feet were done for the day and we returned to the hotel. The meal for the evening was in the refrigerator. I had frozen a large serving of the white lazy lasagna for the trip and it was thawed and waiting for us. Of course we had our stash of wine and rum, so we were very ready to relax and enjoy our meal.
Another day came to an end with over 10,000 steps and packed with ideas. In addition, it was the second day without any food expense and we ate and drank extremely well!
