The 2024 week 30 menu plan is complete. I have planned rotation worthy meals for breakfasts and lunches and a variety of new meals for dinners. After having Poke bowls at my son’s last week, I decided to try some interesting bowls for us. I am on a mission to try all the colors of the rainbow in the fresh fruits and vegetables that we eat and the bowls lend themselves well to that endeavor. I have noted new recipes with a *.
Breakfast
The ‘Ole Buckeye will be quite pleased with the breakfast offerings. They are some of his favorites.

Lunch
The ‘Ole Buckeye will be pleased with the plans for lunches as well. In fact the Zuppa Toscana is one of our very favorite soups.

Dinner
I have planned lots of new ideas for dinners. The air fryer will be put into action and we will try too different takes on “Bowls”.
Hits and Misses
We love hot and sour soup, but I have never tried to tackle making it. This recipe and the recipe for the black bean soup are both from my favorite source for sour dough recipes. I like her recipes so much, I decided to venture out of the breads and into the soups. The hot sour soup was outstanding…restaurant worthy. I will include more varied mushroom the next go around.
The black bean soup was “HOT”. In fact the only way we could eat it was to incorporate a huge dollop of Greek yogurt. The next time I make this I will substantially reduce the amount of peppers and spices. I did like the ease of preparation.
This salad has lots of color and flavor. I was a light lunch, and would make a great addition to an oriental dinner.
I did not use the bacon suggested in this recipe, but the marinade/sauce was very flavorful. Quick and easy with items routinely on hand.
This was the only disappointment this week. I have so many salmon recipes that we enjoy…this will not be repeated. We didn’t like the marinade on the Brussels sprouts either.

I haven’t made this recipe for ages and ages. Why? Great meatless meal!

Recap
All in all we had a great week of delicious meals with lots of new and interesting flavors. The journey to healthy eating continues. Bon Appetit!
