2020 Week 50 Menu Plan
The 2020 Week 50 Menu Plan is complete and although there will be cooking to do, most of the recipes are repeats. There is only one new recipe planned.
Breakfast
The breakfast plan for 2020 week 50 includes favorites. The muffins are on hand and I need to utilize ricotta cheese, so the breakfast casserole is an easy decision, plus it will feed us multiple mornings.
Cran-Apple Holiday Breakfast Muffins
Sausage Ricotta Breakfast Casserole
Lunch
The lunches planned for the week will provide multiple meals and can be easily juggled from one day to the other.
Lentil Soup page 89 Trim Healthy Mama Cookbook
Cheesy Sausage and Cabbage Skillet
Dinner
The dinners planned for 2020 week 50 include a meal prepared by my daughter from Green Chef, a family favorite country chicken kiev, and a new recipe highly recommended by my sister for low carb Swedish meatballs.
Green Chef Creamy Chimichurri Chicken
I change this recipe by using no flour and only Parmesan. I do use wine.
Hits and Misses
This chicken dish can be made to be utilized in several ways, but I opted for the soup, which was enjoyable over several lunches during the week.
My sister suggested this soup and it was a great way to utilize the leftover turkey, especially the dark meat which almost always remains. Instead of packing it away in the freezer to be forgotten, we enjoyed this soup. I just wish the recipe made more. I did add extra stock to provide for an additional lunch.
Slow Cooker Turkey Cream Cheese Soup
I have made this Asiago chicken in the past and we have now moved it up to one of our top chicken dishes, even including it as a timeshare meal on our upcoming trip to Aruba. It is quick, easy, and absolutely delicious.
Food for Thought
Food for thought. Definition…anything that provides mental stimulus for thinking. Something that should be considered carefully.
Recap
The week after Thanksgiving is always a difficult week of cooking for me. After the intense preparation for the holiday meal and the all consuming decorating for Christmas, time in the kitchen is not a priority. We have arrived on the other side! The house is decorated, the meals were great without a lot of fuss. We had a lovely dinner at Orion’s Roof to celebrate the ‘Ole Buckeye’s birthday. Now I look forward to another week of easily prepared meals which will give me time to create holiday traditions in the kitchen. Let the cooking and baking begin! Bon Appetit.
