Flank Steak Marinade
I have made flank steak marinade for as long as I can remember. I have no idea where I got the recipe, but I do know that I have shared it with many. One benefit to this marinade is that you can whip it up and pour it over your meat and plan to grill after only an hour. It is good for last minute outdoor cooking.

Ingredients
- 1/2 Cup Ketchup
- 1 Tsp Salt
- 2 Tbsp Sugar
- 1/4 Cup water
- 2 Tbsp A1 Sauce
- 2 Tbsp Cider Vinegar
- 2 Tbsp Worchestershire Sauce
- 2 Tbsp Oil
Servings:
Instructions
- Combine all of the ingredients in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes. Cool slightly. Pour over your flank steak and allow to marinate for at least one hour.
- Remove the meat from the marinate and grill. Flank steak is best if served rare. Grilling for rare doneness takes approximately 5-6 minutes per side. Let rest.
- Cut the steak across grain into thin diagonal slices to serve.
Recipe Notes
Side Note: I modify this recipe for marinated grilled chicken by replacing the A1 Sauce with Soy Sauce. This makes for a great grilled chicken as well.
